Watermelon is yet another easily available summer fruit. Its natural water content makes it best for hot, sunny days. I have already posted Cantaloupe Juice . Last week we bought a big watermelon. After enjoying the fruit as is, tried this lemonade with the last portion of the fruit.  I usually make plain juice with watermelon but thought of adding ginger as done in my cantaloupe juice. When I was browsing in the Internet for other variations that could be done, I came across ideas of using lemon and mint in some recipes. I was a bit doubtful about using raw mint leaves so ended up using just 1 leaf. But mint added a very nice flavor to this juice. Do try this easy to prepare and refreshing juice..Even kids will love this for the flavor.

Pizza Sandwich is a quick and yummy dish which both kids and adults will love. I have made this many times for my daughter's lunch box and sometimes even for a quick breakfast option. It also makes for an easy after school snack. I have given the possible variations in the Method and Notes section.

Neer mor is a refreshing drink usually made as a neivedhyam for Rama Navami festival along with panagam . My mother makes it for her poojai on Tuesday and Friday along with panagam. We also make it frequently during summer to quench our thirst on hot days.  I made this on the Sri Rama Navami day last week and managed to click as well.                                                                     

Panagam - Panakam - Sri Rama Navami Recipes

Panakam is a refreshing drink usually made as a neivedhyam for Rama Navami festival. I have had it regularly as my mother makes it for her poojai on Tuesday and Friday. She makes this along with neer mor . It is such an easy and healthy drink to prepare and can be made even on regular days as a simple neivedhyam. Though different people make it in different ways, given here is a simple recipe -  the way my mother makes. I made this on the Sri Rama Navami day last week and managed to click as well.                                                               

Tawa Paneer Masala

Tawa Paneer Masala is the easiest paneer recipe to make. I usually make Kadai Paneer whenever I buy a packet of paneer. I came across this recipe from this site and loved the simplicity of the dish. I have been making this very frequently and have modified the original recipe to skip/replace few ingredients. You can prepare this dish in very less time with easily available ingredients in your kitchen. This is a versatile side dish which goes well with rotis, parathas, naan or even as a side dish for any mild pulao varieties or for plain rice mixed with dal. Aval Upma - Poha Upma

Aval(Poha) upma is the easiest upma variety to make. This is a quick fix arrangement to satisfy our hunger anytime of the day. Though it is very easy to make, there are few points to be taken care - especially to soak the poha in water. I have given them in detail in my notes section. This simple Poha upma can have many variations. I have made it simple just with onion, tomato and chilly. I have used coconut just to give an extra flavour to the upma. You can even pair this simple upma with Vella Aval and serve.                              

Banana Almond Milkshake

Banana milkshake with almonds is an easy and healthy milkshake.  The addition of almonds make the drink creamier similar to including ice cream. This is a perfect drink for breakfast or as an after school drink for kids. This is also an easy way to include nuts in the kids diet. I just tried this drink as an option to include almonds for my daughter. I prepared it as an after school drink and she enjoyed it.                                                             

Strawberry Milkshake

Strawberry milkshake is an easy to prepare milkshake. This is healthier when compared to the soft drinks and other shakes made with artificial powders. Since my daughter loves strawberries, I make this once in a while. It is a perfect drink on a hot day.

Vella dosa - Instant Wheat dosa with Jaggery

Vella dosai is a very healthy dish made with wheat flour and jaggery. It can be prepared instantly and can satisfy our sudden sweet cravings. This has been my favourite from childhood as it has jaggery in it. In my home, they usually make this to pair up with the regular instant wheat dosa . You can make this as a quick after school snack for kids, as it doesn't require any pre-planning.

Semiya Payasam - Vermicelli Kheer

                                            Semiya Payasam - Vermicelli Kheer is an easy to prepare sweet/payasam variety for any occasion. This is one of the payasam varieties widely liked by people of all age groups. It tastes great both hot and cold. I have given a simple version of making this payasam with milk and sugar. We can also add condensed milk to provide more richness to the dish. Will post that version soon.
